Started trip at about 11am ...
Reached Ipoh at about 2pm for mee rebus and chicken rice.

Next stop - Bandar PERDA, Butterworth ... Stop by at a house of a
neighbour's daughter for steamboat.

Income Tax Day

Year in year out, it iar been my way to settle my income tax by the
last day ... This year, that last day came with a morning management
meeting that started at 8.30 am and ended at 12.10 pm ... Then out
with Alex (long time no see) for a long lunch ... Then another meeting
with Alan to discuss office issues and some documents that I need to
clear with my boss at my office ... It was about 3.30 pm when I was
settled with Alan to rush to the income tax office to do my things
there ... It took me about an hour to clear my tax matter before I got
the chance to rush to my office for another appointment ... caught
with a slight traffic jam on way back to office ... knew I was not
going to make it for the 5.00 pm appointment, called up SB to attend
to my appointment with the party concern ... My concern was to settle
some documents with my boss ... manage to reach office at 5.30 pm ...
Boss still around, handed over the documents and I was done with boss
... But there was still one more thing I need to do before calling it
a day ... Emailed Notification to relevant parties about the next
management meeting ... Done! ... And left office after my maghrib
prayer ... Reached home at about 9.00 pm ... Drained, exhausted, tired
and kinda sick ... What a long day!

090408 - Wednesday - Trip To Melaka

Went visiting Rosman at Ayer Kerah Pantai Hospital with WYY ... Rosman recovered from coma since Friday (040408) ... glad that he was responsive to our visit ... able to recognise me and WYY and understood our conversation ... all of us at the office hoped that he will recover soon.

Sibuk di hari minggu...

Hari ni aku ada program penuh utk menyibukkan aku seharian. Mula dgn
menbeli belah kat pasar tani di Taman Dato Ahmad Razali, melibatkan
diri sebagai tenaga kerja di rumah Hj Ayob utk urusan kenduri anak
perempuan nya yg pertama sampai ke petang dan malam pulak ke Jusco nak
cari barang dapur. Tak tahu lah kalau ada perkara perkara yg tidak di
rancang yg perlu perhatian aku pada hari ni.

Malam berinai ..

Selepas solat berjemaah isya di surau ... aku dan jemaah sekelian ke rumah Tuan Haji Ayob bagi menjayakan majlis doa selamat kenduri anak perempuan nya ... dapat gak berjumpa dengan Tuan Haji Ayob untuk mengucapkan tahniah kepada nya sempena mendapat menantu baru.

Dia juga berbisik kepada ku agar datang awal untuk membantu dengan kerja kerja kenduri tersebut esok.

Lawatan ke Nilai 3

Betolak jam 10 pagi ke N3. Bantu jiran membeli barang2 utk persiapan
kenduri kawin anak perempuan nya yg terakhir. Jiran minta tlg nak guna
keta aku utk bawa barang-barang yg besar.

Berada di sana sehingga pukul 1 tengah hari ... banyak beli tikar-tikar dan tilam ... dan sememangnya kedai kedai di Nilai 3 besar besar belaka .... sesuatu yang aku sedar ... pengunjung pengunjung ke Nilai 3 ... adalah orang melayu belaka ... susah nak cari pengunjung dari kalangan bangsa cina dan india ... itu lah kenyataannya ... kenapa?????


Dalam perjalanan balik singgah kat Nilai R&R untuk makan tengah hari ... lapar nya selepas berjalan-jalan di Nilai 3.Mummy kata gerai no 1 .. nasi campurnya sedap ... cubalah!!!!

Mizei is one friend of mine who use to work with me during our early days at KYB Audit Dept ... this is one friend who is noisy ... chats a lot ... sings a lot and jokes a lot more

This word, sedekah amal jariah, comes in many form ... In the norm, a person provide financial support as a means of helping someone or some people to survive ... other ways that may tantamount to sedekah amal jariah are inclusive of non financial support such as food, clothing, machinery or anything else that can be use for the benefit of the receipient.

As I sat with my legs folded inwards (the local refer to this position as bersila) at the back portion of Masjid Uniten, I noticed that the cash safe with an opening to put in monetary donations will be well spent now that the state government is under the rule of the Alternative Front ... hopefully this new state government is better than ever before.

Fatigue

What a trip and what a week end ... but I really enjoyed doing what I did. Started with rising early on the Thursday morning (27/3/08) to catch a plane to Kuching for a two day work related trip ... back to KL on Friday ... reached home past midnight ... overslept the next day but managed to lend a hand at Kak Ros's house for the kenduri on Saturday evening and the whole day of Sunday ... time for a short rest!!!

Bantu jiran kenduri kawin...

Ada kumpulan tabligh beriktiqaf di masjid dlm taman sejak semalam
waktu maghrib. Aku suka sebut masjid walaupun ianya di rujuk sebagai
surau kerana masjid menepati maksud tempat sujud (solat).

Subuh tadi, aku tak dapat hadir lama di masjid untuk dengar tazkirah
kerana isteri aku dah peringat sebelum aku melangkah ke masjid pagi
tadi bahawa ada urusan di rumah Kak Ros yang perlukan tenaga ku.

Balik dari masjid, jamah sarapan pagi supaya perut tak kosong bila
buat kerja nanti dan terus ke rumah Kak Ros. Aku bawa dua gulung tikar
siam untuk kegunaan ramai di sana nanti ... amal jariah lah sikit
sikit.

Sesampai ke rumah yang di tuju ... aku bersalaman dengan sahabat-sahabat yang telah sampai seperti Halim Na, Zul Nab, Bang Majid, Azan dan lain-lain. Lebih kurang jam 8.00 pagi ...ayam untuk lauk kenduri pun sampai ... kami pun mulalah membasuh dan membilas ayam-ayam yang telah di potong jadi ketul ketul yang kecil ... buat sampai jam 9.00 pagi sebelum berundur diri untuk menghantar adik gi Outing.

Pelajaran pada peristiwa ini ... kerjasama dan bertolak ansur.

Activities on 290308

Took a good rest today ... Took adik for breakfast since Aya was over
at Kak Ros's house helping with the feast.

Felt the strain of travelling on my body when I woke up this morning.
Missed the f'jar jumua prayer today as I overslept ... came home at
about 1.30am in the morning.

Visited Kak Ros's house in the evening and ate some ox soup with Bang Mail, Hjh Nor,
Zul, Halim and others. Bang Majid, Raja, Hj Mansor and Jang was also
there.

Can't see Wak Leman, Din Bond and Taha around. What's their problem?
... Ahhhh ... who cares!

At about 7.15pm, I was home to prepare for maghrib and isya jumua prayers.

Tengku!

While waiting for someone at the airport, I saw Tengku walking in
front of me ... from a previous text messages with him, I noticed
that he was annoyed when I touched about the way the government
political parties are handling their issues with the losses during the
recent election and issues with the sultan.

I did not proceed to get his attention ... just let him walk pass me
... He looked a lot older than his age ... hmm!

Surau @ Baggage Collection

I like the surau at KLIA Baggage Collection, Level 3, Arrival ... When
I arrived at 9.00 pm, Isya already arrived and I took the opportunity
to perform solah jama' maghrib and isya there ... the surau seemed so
calm inside.

KLIA @ 8.20PM

Arrived KLIA earlier than scheduled ... again, the food served on
board MAS flight MH 2529 on 28.3.08 was lousy ... cold sandwich and
not the kind of fresh bread that came with the sandwich ... Yucks!

Mee kolok

Keinginan utk makan mee kolok akhirnya tercapai jugak bila sdr Zul
membawa kami ke kopi-o-kafe yg terletak di jalan satok selepas solat
juma'at di kg melayu.

Masa sampai ke kafe tu, gerai mee kolok sudah nak di tutup, tapi
keprihatinan tuan punya kedai menyebabkan gerai itu terus di buka
untuk menghidangkan kepada kami mee kolok. Sedapnya dapat makan mee kolok.

Just as I was about to leave my office, boss called up and spoke about my trip to Kuching and fave a few words fo support ... it made my day.

Flight tickets ...

Got my "flight tickets" ... in A4 paper ... whoaaaaa .... guess all the air transport companies are cutting down on ticket costs ... hope that the quality of service in the air industry don't go down as well.

the ramadhan lesson

the post ramadhan period saw the masjid losing the ramadhan jumaah rapidly ... the masjid was left with the usual lineup of makmum for al fajr as it was, before the ramadham started ... to those who managed to make it for al fajr congregating at the masjid the whole year round ... you must really have felt very beautiful inside ... alhamdulillah




the month long ramadhan saw drastic changes in the attitudes of the people in my community and probably in other community as well ... the masjid became a sanctury for almost all walks of life in search of blessings from Allah for being dutiful ... more so when the deed are rewarded 10 folds ... the iqtikafs ... the mandatory prayers ...







breaking fast in the masjids as well as having the opprotunity of contributing something to feed those breaking their fast ... doing the terawih prayers with 8 to 20 to more rakaats.


the terawih prayers end with the witr prayers ... which i felt should be done at the later time of the night rather that immediately after the terawih as the time was still as early as 10.00 pm ... followed by tadarus Al Quran session ... and once or twice a week ... the masjid will organise a taskirah session delivered by an Ustaz ...

I find the days and nights of ramadhan very challenging .... juggling with the daily chores at home and the office and the additional need to sincerely make myself available at the masjid for the nightly ibadah till dawn for the whole month ... sadden at times by not being able to live up to the expectation of Ramadhan.

the monsoon season never fail to show itself every year nowadays ... bringing heavy rain causing erosion in the high land and flooding of the low lying land ... I am so sure now that there will be lots more rain coming in the future with the greenhouse effect getting worse ... the ice caps in the north and south poles will continue melting ... pity those living in the low lying areas ... acquiring losses and losses every time the "banjir" arrives!!! ... like I said earlier ... people never learn ... lots of padi land were reclaimed to develop housing estates ... and guess what!!! ... where else can the water in the padi field go to? ... if not up ... beyond the flood danger level ... notice the water mark when the flood reached its peak! Balik kampung for Eid Ul Fitr 1427 H

at the point of time when i wanted to return to my home town ... i realised that there were quite a list of things for me to do at my late parents-in-laws house ... there's no one to care for of the wooden house ... more so when flooding has been frequent in the area ... at my age, with two grown-up kids ... the grass cutting spree (i'd say) surely kept me exhaused and drained till breaking fast during the holy month of ramadhan ... armed with a weaved hat, a portable lightweight grass cutting machine hung on my back .. there i was swinging the cutter shaft from side to side trimming the grass and the stubborn lalangs

i remember that grass cutting was so much fun a few years back ... smelling the freshly cut grasses gathered in the front yard of the house ... with a stone set chairs and table under the mangosteen tree in the yard (see pic) ... use to have our family lunch there as often as we can when everytime we return home ... the stone set brought lots of sweet memories ... those days when ma and pa-in-law were still around ... they weeded all the grass in the yard and grew pegagas instead ... and harvest them on sundays and supply these "ulams" at a competitive price at the "pekan nat" near to a "not so busy" railway station ... what's left now are wild grasses, lalangs, untendered bouganvillas, ubi kayu, bananas plants, lots of creepers and crawlies ... the compound was so big (to me) that it took about three days to clear the yard

surah yassin

tektik baru dikesan untuk menyara aktiviti yang tak de pekdah ... seseorang akan datang ke rumah atau tempat awam untuk menjual kitab yassin atas alasan derma bantuan kepada golongan yang memerlukan (siapa agaknya golongan yang memerlukan tu???) ... ada satu kisah benar ... boleh dikatakan kebanyakan masjid/surau menyimpan kitab-kitab yassin di tempat yang senang untuk diambil ... betul, sebab rata-rata penjaga-penjaga tempat ibadat berpikiran positif akan tujuan kedatangan sesiapa pun ke masjid adalah untuk beribadat ... tapi ... tanggapan begini telah di pergunakan oleh orang-orang tertentu untuk mengambil kesempatan di atas peluang yang ada di depan mata ...

 

 

apa yang berlaku ialah orang yang bermotif jahat akan datang ke tempat ibadat ini dan mengambil sebanyak mungkin kitab-kitab yassin ketika tempat ibadat tidak diawasi dan memulakan usahanya (berdikari la ni secara sendirian atau berkumpulan) dengan menjual kitab-kitab ini pulak kepada orang ramai dengan alasan membantu golongan yang memerlukan ... ramai yang terkena ... sebab ... nak dapatkan butiran tentang sesebuah pertubuhan kebajikan amatlah mudah seperti yang terdapat di banyak majalah majalah ... cuma ambil keratan artikel tentang pertubuhan kebajikan itu dan laminetkan ... bawa keratan yang telah dilaminetkan bersama kitab-kitab surah yassin yang telah diperolehi di masjid dan surau secara percuma dan tanpa kebenaran ... dan seterusnya .... anda tau apa yang akan dilakukan.

 

 

sampaikanlah pesanan ini kepada petugas-petugas di masjid/surau ... pastikan semua kitab-kitab yang ada dalam simpanan masjid/surau mempunyai sekurang-kurang satu tanda "wakaf untuk 'nama masjid/surau/madrasah'" bagi cuba menangani program nakal terbaru yang bermodal kecil dan mencegah kecurian di tempat ibadat ... dan menolong mengurangkan dosa manusia.

 

juga memandangkan bahawa orang ramai biasanya mewakafkan al quran dan sebagainya kepada tempat masjid/surau/madrasah atas niat amal jariah ... kesian!!!

 

akan sampai satu masa nanti ... ada orang yang berebut-rebut untuk menguruskan jenazah tanpa perlu ada ilmu kerana masyarakat biasanya ... tak tahu apa yang berlaku di tempat mandi jenazah ... dipermudahkan pula bila solat jenazah dalam mode sirrr!!! ... AWAS!!!

 

INGATLAH ... KEMAKMURAN MASJID/SURAU ADALAH URUSAN KITA SEMUA

the wooded mimbar area at masjid bahagian ... i admire the craftsmanship ... fantastic ... there are not that many skilled craftsman around today ... their skill-set disappear when they are gone ... and that will be any nation's loss culturally!!! (01513)

the ablution area of masjid bahagian in kuching city on one friday noon ... no rush to cleanse oneself here when one think of a similar session in semenanjung ... so peaceful!!! ... the masjid is close to the sungai! ... i love viewing the sungai slow flowing water going downstream (015121)

sharing tasks

last saturday and sunday ... i was with the WG doing some spring cleaning of the rsnq charity home ... the building of two floors ... it wasn't an easy assignment for all of us ... new to the new environment and new task of clearing the administrative office, the hall, bath rooms, bedroom, kitchen, staircases, cupboards etc kept us all wondering whether any other charity centres like ours can be run alone by one person ... i just wonder!!!

priority is mainly on the cleanliness of the home ... especially the kitchen ... and the bath rooms ... being a new establishment ... the various requirement of meeting financial, health and safety regulations in running a charity home for the kids is definately very challenging ... all of us in the WG are volunteers who are limited by time due to our commitment elsewhere ... and it is just week-ends and other times (if we are free) that we are able to meet up at the sanctury to look into issues of concern and our vision ... i just hope that things will be better and better for the nurul qanaah kids.

life around us

the past two day week-end ... i was more focussed on the gotong royong at nurul qanaah ... earlier, on the 3rd December, 2005, ... nurul qanaah successfully managed to organise a friendship day (hari silaturrahim) with everybody who knows or want to know about nurul qanaah ... a charity home for poor/orphaned/neglected kids ...







felt good that there were and are still many many kind and generous hearted souls around to give the home a helping hand and listen to the home's challenges and vision.












in between the leisure and serious conversation, the children did came up with a presentation in appreciation of the visiting guests ... and they did receive close attention from the guests!!!

the choice

Who we are depends greatly on what we believe, do, say ... it comes as a compliment having these three things sync in the same direction and tempo ... it will be tough for us when these three things starts to go their separate ways ... we'll get confused and so are those who are dealing with us ...
Whatever we believe, no one can confirm that except ourselves ... but whatever we did or said ... that will roughly give us away on who we are actually ... or what we believe! ... the faith ... the iman ... which simply must have the element of believing, saying and doing ... once they are in sync and revving strongly ... the iman gets stronger and stronger.
A common obstacle called pain will be with us on and off ... to check what we are doing or saying ... at time there is a need to tread on fragile or thorny path ... that may cause damage on whatever we trod on or hurt us when the thorns got stuck in our feet ... these are challenges we need to face to live up to what we are believing in, saying or doing ... and that's where our iman strengthen or weakens ... by working our way handling the obstacle or just giving in to it ... the choice is ours.

a day on my own

took a day's leave yesterday to clear some personal matters ... books, clothes, some personal effects ... found out how time flies when you are on your own ... no matter how hard you wanna clear your list of thing to do for that day ...

what a way!

its nice to start blogging ... knowing that there are people out there who knows me well either personally or thru my mails ... life is sure beautiful in so many ways!!!
